 239 for 256bit Geforce 8800GT with 1GB memory?

No thank, I want to pay 400 for next generation Geforce 9 with maybe 512bit bus and possible 1.5GB memory if it out in February 2008. :)

More memory doesn't necessarily make a vid card faster. In fact the only time it will help is when a game uses enough memory for models and textures that it would overload a lesser card and require it to start swapping stuff into system memory, this can also be brought about by extremely high resolution with AA.

The most important memory related specs on a vid card are always bus width and clockspeed, other then that anything 512mb or over IMO is plenty for todays games.

Well for that price/performance ratio it's a steal;)

I agree that 99% of the time, a cards bandwidth is more important than the amount of RAM, but I think I've seen points when my 512mb 8800gt is running out of frame buffer. For example, In Oblivion running Quarl's texture pack 3 and Captain Kill's LOD pack, I get a good fast frame rate with 4xaa, but turning on 8xaa results in a disproportional loss in performance, and introduces a lot of stuttering. Fraps shows a marginally playable frame rate, but it stutters a lot, which implies insufficient memory. Still, a full gig does sound excessive. I half way suspect the 384bit bus of the gtx\ultra was introduced with the 768 frame buffer in mind more so than the added bandwidth.
