I have a hp pavilion 7850. Ive had it for sometime now, like 2 years. I get alot of errors with it. Ive tryed to fix them individually but it doesn't work. And to speed stuff up i usually defrag and virus scan and Mcaffee quickclean it. (helps alot)

What im trying to say is... Do you think I should nuke my computer and use my recovery disks that came with my computer?? And if i should HOW DO I DO IT?

And also I want to save my Counter-strike stuff, thats one important thing, ALL my maps and stuff. I dont want them erased all, please help me out.

So please help me out, thanks.

(If you have any questions, post it as a reply)

Your telling me you havent restored your computer in 2yrs?!(the restore cds you mention) Especially with your system i would do it every 4-5 months.

If you really have not used the restore cd in two years(or even 6 months) then do it. Your computer will be 1000000000000000x faster than it is now. I restore usually ever 4 months or when I notice the speed is going away and i cant seem to get it back.

If you wanna save your cs stuff your gonna need a cd-rw to burn the folder onto. basically save all software that you have, half life patches, cs patches ect..ect..

If you dont have a cd-rw then your pretty much screwed and will lose the info.

When you do the restore it will ask you if you wanna lose everything on your harddrive, select yes and this will bring your computer back to the way it was brand new.

WHat OS you have?

open cd player put restore cd in...

turn off computer

turn on computer

DOS screen will appear asking the types of restore you will wanna do.

something like these options will appear

#1 safe recovery- no info lost will restore all origanal bla bla bla

#2 complete revovery - all data will be lost and computer will be restored to origanal state

go with whatever option says you will lose everything
