PROVING ONCE AGAIN that enthusiasts are a segment of a segment of a segment, the two high-profile graphics-centric games releases - Crysis and Unreal Tournament - have tanked in the sales charts.

According to industry Bible NPD, neither game managed to even get past 100,000 units, with Crysis selling 86,633 copies since November 13 and Unreal Tournament doing a pathetic 33,995 - despite the hype around its much-delayed release.

Only 86k copies in the US yes, but then the rest of the world aint included... Crysis sells good in europe :)

****ing americans, most of them choose to download the games instead of buying them. After all Crysis havn't been badly downloaded in the US anyway... lol damn yankies. One more reason is that the game is very demanding and most ppl havn't enough power to run it. And they dont wanna run it on low so they dont buy it... Well thats more of a thought actually.

i can see that. Its a game that is really going to shine when new hardware comes out, until then its just a frustrationfest for anyone running less than incredible hardware.

Americans? not at all, you won't believe how many people choose to "bittorrent" a game in China. (lee63)

^^ Wow I don't remember the sky being so multicolored at sunrise. I could be wrong though :)

Anyways I think that the secret of Crysis sells lie within the fact that the game will continue to sell steadily for years to come, while a typical console title (i.e. MOST, not all)is more inclined to sell well for a few months then the sales wears off dramatically.

NOTE: NPD only counts retails stores, EB, GS, maybe BB etc..

NOT ONLINE SALES, MOST PC GAMES are SOLD ONLINE.

NPD stats are useless

In USA I believe that is the second game in the top in PC ;)

First in all plataforms in Germany , second in PC in USA , third in UK in PC . Are the principal markets of PC . In Japan is the second game in the Top of PC ;) . In Germany the sales can are about a hundreds of thousands , some times more than in USA . I believe that is the first game in sales in PC in the world or the second - maybe the first is COD4 .

And maybe in USA some sales are in the digital distribution , like in Germany
