i've gotten that very same error about a million times trying to set up my dual monitors with twinview... usually it is when my XF86Config-4 is set up wrong... i just reinstall the drivers and everything is fine... i was running it on mandrake 9.0 and 9.1 though... so i dont know if this will help or not

but good luck anyway

Is there anything helpful in the output of dmesg, near the end?

Does turning PnP OS off, or turning Assign IRQ to VGA on (both of these settings are in your BIOS), help?
