Hello everyone

I have just bought my son a new computer. the Time/Tiny (UK company) Powerstation+. Pretty good specs:

1gb memory
MSI mobo AGPx8
dvd writer and dvd player
Integrated flash/mem card
160 gb HD; etc., etc.

Like myself he wishes to have dual operating systems Win-xp and Win98SE. The machine came with XP installed and I have added Win98se. Now I have a problem which someone may be able to help me with?

I have no idea who made the supposedly Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 grahics card. It has 128mb ram and AGPx8, and according to the display info in the Config Panel, it is a Nvidea GForce FX 5200. Along with the computer one is given a System & Driver CD with (again supposedly) a complete copy of ALL the hardware drivers installed.

The list of Display Drivers contains nothing appertaining to the FX 5200, but does have the MSI GForce 3_4 on it. Could this be the one?

If it is not can anyone tell please how to find out just which card I have installed and from where drivers may be obtained.

My apologies for such a long post.

regards

If Control Panel is already telling you the name of the card, doesn't that mean drivers are already installed? Start by opening the case and having a look at the card, it may say on it what it is. If FX 5200 drivers have installed properly then the card is probably a 5200 :) In which case drivers from http://www.nvidia.com/ will be fine. Keep checking for updates since the card is very new out and the driver situation may move quite quickly. What happens if you go to Control Panel -> Display -> Settings tab -> Advanced button? There should be a page about the card.

Thank you for the reply.

I ditched the card and bought a better one.
