Although they are completely different games, I think I agree with it for the most part.
I do like COD4 MP though.
I believe so many guys in nvnews already stated the differences between CoD4 & Crysis & we already said they are not comparable.
however this is a good review for those who haven't played these games.

overall I enjoyed COD 4 more. Both games were about the same in length on the hardest difficulty.

Agreed. Sad that as "confining" as it was I still enjoyed it more than Crysis.

Yap, that's what i wanted to say. Where the fun is when it runs like crap. I liked COD4 much more too. I could have play games on medium or low, but then it looks like crap...so really i skipped the game. I will give it a try when Geforce 9 comes out, but i have feelings that the game will still run like crap.
CoD4 = Multiplayer. Thats where its strength is at.
Crysis could be a great online side as well, its got alot more open and the guns/etc makes it alot more fun, along with the nano suit...but not everyone can afford a high end pc..and even then it does not run at great smooth speeds like CoD4 can. Given time i think maybe after the GF9, alot of people will get the game and start playing it.
I myself am enjoying CoD4 online alot, i have my copy of Crysis..sitting here, but i want to wait till next year when i do a full upgrade to enjoy this game. Crysis is defiantly alot better and a great game, but without the hardware..it can be disappointing.
Single player to Single Player..Crysis does offer more with its open ended thing, looks fantastic as well.
CoD4 just simply has a amazing multiplayer to enjoy without the need of a uber sli computer to enjoy it.
I cant wait for next year..its killing me having to look at this Crysis box..and not play it..omg -.-..

the whole "open endedness" part of Crysis is over faily quickly and then the game is on rails
its pretty to look at but it didn't offer much else.

It's true if things would have stayed out of the alien ship or what ever that was I would say the sp is the best I have played.
COD sp was to short. MP rocks I am addicted... help

Bad coding or it just used a bad engine, the game will surely run like crap even you got a monster machine. (nana2)
Wow, I saw the link to the video on the front page earlier but thought it was another lame ass user movie. Decided to watch it per this post and found it was quite good (yea he sounds nerdy, but wouldn't you?).
And yea its probably good he stayd away from the alien ship and the ship battles. God that was awful. ;) Lets hope we see more blowing up alien ships from the outside instead of the inside in crysis 2...
although, crysis's alien ship scenes were some of the best, what should I call it, automated machinery art? The functions of the ship being carried out oblivious to what ever you are doing, with large conduits moving and powering up. Its not new, but they pulled it off better then most do.
the ship deck battles would be better if they didn't run at 5fps. ;)

bad coding....k...right...
People sometimes forget the amount things that actually go in Crysis to make it look the best thing out there...but yea...bad coding must be the reason...not that the game actually has hq graphics..and that hardware isn't on par with the game...even the best coding wouldn't make this game run smooth on current hardware...otherwise we would see this on ps3/xbox360, since after all..EA has its hands on this game..and they always release any game on everything..
I agree with the video. COD4 was excellent but lasted only 5 hours and I never touched it again, except for a couple of levels, but they just felt the exact same like the first time around.
On the other hand, I've played and replayed many levels in Crysis for what amounts to probably 40-50 hours at this point. The cool thing is that I've had a different experiences by choosing different approaches.
Interactivity and open gameplay FTW.
You still have to take into account CoD4 Multiplayer, which i would say is where most people spend hours and hours of time on...

COD4 MP is fine, but single player is rather bad. While some people do buy the game just for MP, I still preffer a good Single Player game over MP.

CoD4 single player is firkkin awesome.....Cod4 multiplayer is even better.
Crysis single player is good (graphically awesome), Crysis Multiplayer is terrible.
Funny how the reviewer failed to mention the multiplayer side of the games. :D:D:D
I agree with the video, exactly why I didn't purchase CoD4 after having tried the demo and I won't either until it drops in price or I can find it second hand. COD4's presentation is good, so is graphics and sound, but the same old gameplay with just about NO elements of innovation or interesting elements and the sheer linearity where an experienced gamer like me sees invisible walls and unlrealistic confining EVERYWHERE is a huge turnoff. Quite frankly when looking at it's reviews on gamerankings.com, I would go as far as calling COD4 the most overrated game ever (IMO).
I would still like to play the game at some point though, but money is an issue.

COD4 demo did turn me off aswell, but i did play few levels from the full game, only decent one is the Chernobyl level. Rest is meh, plays all the same.
At least in Crysis, you are able to do complete tast in few different ways, outcome might be the same, but the way you get there is different.

My friend got CoD4 for Christmas (he got it early of course), after his high-praise of the MP, I decided to give it a whirl. Not having been an online FPS junkie for sometime (can we say CS 1.6?). It took me a few rounds to get into my groove, but once I figured out how everything worked...phew this game rules!
I'm now addicted to CoD 4 MP, it took me 2 days (on and off playing) to get to level 37, now I wanna hit 55 (5-star ftw!). I absolutely love TDM and how well spawn points flow on a map. It's actually stolen WoW time (which is a hard thing to do these days).
Crysis was a great SP experience, MP is severely lacking, mostly due in part to the heavy graphics hit you take. It's easier to take an FPS hit in SP, but MP is all about twitch speeds that you can't do with 15FPS. I do hope they continue to expand the storyline, and I hope to see some other games license the engine.
Keep in mind the Unreal 3 engine has been out for nearly 2 years as well (can anyone say technology catching up), it's had plenty of time to mature in the wild, give CryEngine 2 some time he'll get there.

Example of good coding and good engine
