wow i was browsing and bumped this one:

http://www.isquaredinc.com/

MSI GeForce FX 5800 Ultra-TD Retail Box (PRE ORDER ETA 4/20)
Manufacturer Part Number: 8904-002
$369.00
MSI - GeForce FX5800 Ultra-TD - Graphics card - FX 5800 Chipset - AGP 8x/4x - 128 MB Dual Channel DDR - TV-Out - DVI - Retail Box

Now the real question is whether it's an OEM or retail?

according to MSI look what you should get with it
http://www.msicomputer.com/product/vga/vga_detail.asp?model=FX5800_Ultra-TD

And that's for 369$ WooHoo :afro:
bodily i think it's an OEM however it's still amazing price... :D

nice for an ultra... :)

P.S. the geforcefx 5800 ultra and the radeon 9800 pro are priced the same all over the net (average 425$~ , that's mainly in the big stores)

I hope you give a detailed report on how your new PNY GeForce FX 5800 Ultra performs. Since you haved owned a 9700 Pro, I'm interested in hearing your experiences with this new card.

Sure thing. I'm not a big fan of ati or nvidia.
I just buy the besy from both sides.
I swith back and forth all the time. :)

I'll be installing Tuesday night and will post my thoughts
and benches. :)

Great. Can't wait to hear your firsthand account, bkswaney. Eventhough I have a 9800 Pro, I'm tempted to pick up a GeForce FX 5800 Ultra. I have owned all the top of the line cards from Nvidia and it looks like it would be fun to try one of these heavy, noisy, fire breathing bad boys out.

U fell like I do. :D
Plus having a card that everyone does not have is kinda nice. :)

Yea, I have never cared about who makes the video cards that I own. (I've had Matrox, ATI, 3DFX, Nvidia, etc.) I just enjoy computer hardware in general. I buy and try video cards and other hardware all the time.

I must admit that I've been extremely surprised on how well the 9700 Pro/9800 Pro have performed in my system. Seeing firsthand how ATI has addressed any issues in their driver's, has impressed me. When I first got the 9700 Pro last September, there were several annoying things about the drivers and how they had issues with several of my games. But ATI did an excellent job of fixing the problems I had. I also had rolling line and shimmering with my 9700 Pro's. They never did go away until I picked up the 9800 Pro.

The 9800 Pro is rock solid with speed and superb IQ. I just get bored,I guess, so the FX 5800 Ultra looks very intriguing.

I understand that you are trying the 5800 Ultra because you have had some issues that haven't been fully resolved. (Granite Bay)

Hmmmmmmm. That seems awfully low. I would definetly call them and ask. Sounds to me that that's just a 5800 normal and not an Ultra. Something just seems fishy with an Ultra 5800 being priced that low.

I've talked to a couple of retail vendors and (their cost) isn't even that low for a retail boxed card. If they are legit then that's a steal and a half. But I would definetly call first...

30$ off to low? I havent talked to vendors, but my uncle usto buy and sell wholesale to K-Mart and Wal-Mart and he would buy a dozen for an insanely low amount such as 50cents or less and sell it to K-mart for about 10$, witch they would resale for probly 12$ each. It was just cheep junk.

I dunno but with out those kind of insane markups I doubt any store would be in business selling video cards and computer related parafanalia! hehe

Hey BigFish7 have you called the place to confirm if it's the real deal? If it's indeed the Ultra 5800 Retail Box?
