Unless I start running out of ram and it becomes a problem, has yet to happen. I leave vista's paging alone. 64 bit 4 gigs like you.

The general rule is to have a paging file at minimum to equal size of your RAM. That has been the rule....

I personally think, more logically that the more physical RAM you have, the lesser in size the page file needs to be; this is of course for general application and gaming...

in MB

RAM Swap
256 768
512 1024
768 1536
1024 2048
1536 1536
2048 1536
4096 1024

Thats the way I see it at least, I could be wrong. Using this method, I have yet to see my page file increase in size.

min 4096, max 4096 is fine for any amount of ram. Unless you really cant spare the drive space !!!!

Use pagedefrag.
