Other then its stealer color scale and legendary lineage... beats me ;) There not the cheapest but there the most highly sought after LCDs. There QC with dead pixels is great as well and they also look great.

I am having zero issues with my Samsung 245BW 24" (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001234&Tpk=samsung%2b245BW)

Have not looked at the Dell 2407 but I have heard it is very nice. Good luck on you decision. You won't lose either way.

Might want to wait a bit, Dell's 3008 WFP is already available in some places, and it's got all the connections you could ever want on a monitor - yes, that means Displayport too. I assume Dell has a 2408 in the works as well, so personally I'd go for that if I was in the market for a new LCD.

400 or up cd/m2 and around a 1000:1 contrast . Granted a bit more brightness would be better but 400 isnt bad at all.

I have the BENQ 24 inch Black Widescreen. Had it for a couple of years best monitor I've ever owned.

I ran some pixel fixer for about 10 minutes... no dice. How long did you run it?

Only stuck pixels may be fixed. Need to run the fixer anywhere from 10 minutes to overnight, however, pixel fixers can create stuck pixels as well, so it's up to you.
