I used to get this on my asus 6600gt pci, and now get them again on my asus 8800gtx. this happens with the card's clock at default and with the oc (as mentioned in the sig):

"Unknown error on L0 -> L0"

[so what is this "L0", "L1". My understanding is that they are power modes?]

What happens is that, say i am playing The witcher, the game would lock up
audio would continue to play in the back ground. Sometimes after a couple of minutes i am either thrown back to the desktop, or i get a black screen with looping audio.

The ambient room temp is 18C, the card's fan speed is set to 100% [rivatuner], the cpu's load temps as reported by coretemp are 45ish on all cores (orthos stress).

i tried googling around but their are no definitive answers. I am sure it isnt a power supply issue [corsair hx620].

Anyone has any concrete ideas on what this means and why do these pop up,

replies would be highly appriciated!

edit: using drivers: 169.04

What OS are you using? I've had similar lockups that all turned out to be driver related.
