It's only 1GB because Vista allocates RAM into the video card. If you install XP or put that GPU in an XP machine, it will read out 256MB. Go to www.srtest.com and select any game, it will give you a read out of your computer. If you're running Vista, it will say 246MB VRAM, but XP will say 256MB VRAM, not 1009MB. Then again, that website is pretty new. "Get's rid of memory bottle necks!" That 128-bus gets that bottle neck right back.

the results i get from that site tested on Call Of Duty 4

http://upload.gtarp.exofire.net/files/results.jpg
which says 1.0GB
also its only using aound 767 mb or my RAM and has 1024 dedicated
giving the total as 1791MB
http://upload.gtarp.exofire.net/files/memory.jpg
is that actually 1.0GB of RAM on it??
im getting the 8800GT soon anyway but just wanting to know how much to overclock the core/mem from its defaults

one other thing is this fan/heatsink good for overclocking it, default clock the idle temp is around 23C

I'd says it's a 256MB card with "HyperMemory" (or whatchamacallit), and the remaining 768MB are cut away from your system memory - i.e. with your 2GB of ram, you have 1280MB left as system memory.
I'd turn of this useless feature, as having more than 256MB is pointless for such an low-end card. It's much better to use the full 2GB as system memory, especially when using such a memory hungry OS like Vista.

It's a lowend card and 1GB is too much for a 128-bit card. It's gonna be bottlenecked.
