Using 8800GTS 512 with 169.21 drivers.

After I reboot the direct fan control defaults back to Automatic.

Is this a bug or is there something I'm not setting correctly?

It is a bug. Even if you create a profile and a rule to load that profile on startup, the fan speed itself will not be set.

Actually using the New Ntune beta that is out you can get the overclock and fan speed to stick after every reboot!!!! I am using the 169.21 in XP and the 169.28 in vista and i have unistalled rivatuner (which is a Awesome program)
and it works PERFECT :)

Thats me,;) Im tired of constantly waiting for updated rivatuner to support new drivers, not to mention the last couple of versions have been a little buggy. Hardware monitoring screwing up which requires a reinstall of rivatuner. Rivatuner isnt reading SLi 8800 GT temps correctly for me. Ntune works fine if you set it up right. It only partially supports my Mobo, but thats nothing new. I dont use Ntune or any other software to change Mobo, memory and CPU settings anyway, thats best left done in Bios. I still love rivatuner, but its giveing me issues with these 8800 GT's.

How to set your clocks in Ntune and have them applied at windows startup:
