This is on my girlfriend's computer.

The computer is unable to load gebyv.exe under the Windows/system32 folders.

Is reformatting the only way? I'm hoping not because this computer literally has everything that my girlfriend and her parents save on.

I used the Adaware to find the bad files, it did and I got rid of them. Then I used AVG Antivirus, it found 19 threats and healed them. But I'm thinking it actually affected too many and corrupted few programs.

My girlfriend's parents use AOL a lot and something, I guess a virus affected it, and when it found the affected file, AVG healed them. And we were unable to open AOL anymore so I had to uninstall and install AOL.

Suggestions?

Gebyv.exe is a trojan virus, it had too many viruses on PC and deleted all of them sucessful but it caused damages to your girlfriend's computer that she cant open some programs as well as AOL.

The only solution is save important data to DVDRW or CDRW then format the hard drive.

Oh man. :( I knew it. I had AOL reinstalled, it worked, but now it won't work anymore.

I'll reformat later.

Install this, then go to Control Panel >> Startup... Check the tabs and see if there are any entries that refer to this file, or any other that you don't recognize (be careful though); and delete them. They will go into the deleted tab, in case you removed one you didnt mean to.

It's already fixed, reformatting did the job.
