All I can say is wow! HP did a great job on making sure their own bios on the hybrid Asus Striker Extreme 680i Motherboard is stable. I can clock my memory right at 1066MHz without any lock ups or blue screens. I even enabled nearly every option for SLI and performance of SLI in the bios on this motherboard and I've not had one lock-up! This computer kicks ass! Even hp did a much better job on the bios compared to Asus when they had complete control over it.

You'll give HP a bighead.

Hmmm, maybe I should buy one.....everything is done for you....kind of makes using enthusiast forums pointless though eh?

That computer takes the fun out of tweaking your hardware. And it costs you your first born.

Indeed, however I do think that the Blackbird is a pretty good pre-built PC.

Agreed and for the price these machines go for I'd want it to come with 8 gigs of ram.

The bios is rock solid! On a stability level this bios crushes anything Asus has ever done with the Asus Striker Extreme 680i Chipset. Not even their own official bios version 1305 can touch what hp has done with their own bios version 5.05 on this motherboard. It's day and night on the quality and everything.

Yes, for me it sure was with best way option wise because of the price factor. Having to spend $1,500 It would of costed me more if I had been some blow joe down the street LMAO!

True lol! I know if it has not been for HP I would of just build it and ordered a Koolance case and waited on those 9800 GTX cards and went all out water cooled! I would never pay their retail price of $5,500 and up! hell no!!! I would of told HP and voodoo to stick it up their ass!
Hell, I know everyone on this forum board is nearly equal to the know how on building a really good kick ass system and we has a body speaking as one to many almost are against any kind of pre-built system from any leading manufacturer. That's a good thing because it keeps our ideas fresh and innovation levels high! :) Knowledge is power!

I would buy one if HP sells enthusiasts level PCs in my region, or even Alienware. But since none of them is available, I have to build my own.

You only paid 1500? I think you need to put that little factoid in ur sig, kind of changes everything and would keep people from ribbing you for having a premade....I assumed you paid retail for it, 5k something therefore that would of made you out to be a chump in my book:)

Build it yourself, is my opinion. It always comes out better when you build it yourself. And Hewlett-Packard. . . eh. That name reeks of wal-mart specials and bargain junk machines. I don't care how good it is, that name will prevent me from purchasing it, ever.

If you refuse to buy that machine for $1500 and build your own to match its performance for about $3000-$4000, then it would be utterly stupid.

I would buy it for 1,500 in a NY second!! Then it would go on Ebay and I would build one mean ass rig.
