No one is buying nvidia ...not for a while - they're hot as any one company can be right now. You only sell to avoid bankruptcy, they aren't there. I would have been more inclined to believe a rumor like this say, back in the fx series days.

Rught now, today, 1/3/08 - Nvidia is more likely to buy Intel than reversed.

Should be great to have a decent chipset for SLI, but horrible for us, the customers (bye competition).

Think about the Super Star Destroyer vs the Corellian Corvette.

Then Microsoft will buy Google, and Intel and nvidia and there will be no companies left, just "The Company".

Microsoft could probably buy the entire world if they wanted to... and yet they don't...

Suuuuure... And then get ass-raped by every single control authority all over the world...

(and I'm obviously not taking into account the fact that msft financials say that it only has a little more than, e.g., twice the value of aapl )

Can anyone here cite an example in the American or European market where prices actually rise to the point of public complaint after a monopoly forms? It's so common to say "oh the enthusiast loses because of no competition." or "oh no, we're going to see $1000 cpu's and gpu's because there's a monopoly."

I don't really believe that it will be so bad as many of you predict if Intel and nVidia were the only players in the world.

AT&T before the Bell system break up.
IBM before the Bell System break Up.
US Railroads before anti-trust legislation.

That's three just off the top of my head.

buying nvidia out while-ever Jen-Hsun Huang is CEO
Not going to happen. Evah.
