wow, look at those results so far....
I wonder why everyone thinks that AMD will win.
*cough*Athlon64*cough*
In games AMD in everything else Intel. I am a gamer so guess what i picked :D

I've been an intel man as long as I can remember, but me next mobo will be an AMD.
I've built/reconditioned a few for friends, and they're f-cking SWEET at gaming!
I get it now, I really do.
AMD=GOOD THING(tm)
(I'm still gonna probably wait until the 2nd or 3rd opteron is out though...CPUs are just too damned fast anymore! ;) )
the new amd hammers are designed to scale well in terms of clock speed... the only glitch will be the on-die memory controller...
hence as yields improve... we will probably see a nice scale upwards in terms of clock speeds...
I am keeping my fingers crossed for a 2.5+ ghz hammer by the end of the year :D
we all can see what happens with a 1.8ghz athlon 64... :D
just imagine...
1.6GHz aka A64-2800+ Also if anyone else noticed the Athlon XP 1.6GHz ran at 400MHz FSB also because it's memory bandwith was higher then the XP2800+ which has 333MHz FSB.

I agree that AMD will win with games, P4 in everything else. Most desktop programs rely on pure mhz anf aster memory bandwidth then they do on high IPC
I've been an Intel man all my life with the exception of my one AMD 486. Guess how I voted? :D
