View Full Version : Serial Attached SCSI
Quick n00b question.
Is it correct that you can just plug a SAS drive into a SATA port, and play away? Or do you still need a SCSI controller?

no, SCSI controller will not help, you need SAS controller.
and it won't work in SATA
Hmm, the description on dabs.com is misleading. It basically states that it uses "the existing SATA interface", ergo you can just plug it into your SATA port and play away (sic).
Another question. Should I even bother with SAS? Or is there not much difference between regular SCSI?

If this is for your home computer, stay away from SAS. SAS is server level hardware.

don't go with SAS, they are too l337...better off with delta.
