Because i keep getting this gay error

http://img295.imageshack.us/img295/3807/patcherrorvv7.jpg

Initally when i installed it it asked for my crysis disk, so i put it in, clicked ok and the error came up. So i had to end the program, start it again, but when i did the error showed up the moment it tries to start copying over the new files.

A little help please?

Same error here too. I'll try reinstalling the game.

UPDATE:
Ok, I reinstalled the game. Still had the error. But before installing the patch I removed the intro movies again.

I put the intro movies back in the appropriate folder. Patch installed fine.

Patch installed without a problem in XP. Will report back if it does the same with the Vista version. I didn't mess with the intro movies but they are located at "x:\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Game\Localized\Video".

I installed the map pack back when it was released. I'm not exactly sure what might cause the patch install problem other than something messed up with installshield.

I had to do a full reinstall. I wonder if it has to do with the modified cfg files??

edit: I had erased the movies too

I got it to install. But I didn't have to reinstall the game. I forgot I took the movies out. I just put them back in and the patch installed.

if you guys removed the intro videos it could be the issue..

It installed fine in Vista64 as well, and I even installed the map pack (in Vista) before the patch as well. However, the patch install in Vista took quite a while compared how fast it installed in XP. Yes my DVD was in the drive during both patch installations but I never heard it spin up.

Had a bizarre issue too. Installed it in XP pro and when it finished it asked me to click on finish to complete install.

I clicked on it at least 3 times and it took the best part of 10 mins to finally take me to the changes page. Not had this issue before.

BTW it has not messed with the cfg files. Just checked and they look the same.

I hope it has improved SLI compatibility as this games truly sucks with SLI. I have to play at 1280x1050 to get really playable framerates. A joke no?

I'll give it a whirl in next 48 hours and post back.

i saw light come on drive i think the patch has copy protection to test disc to see it is genuine

How long does it take to install this patch? It's been sitting at 'copying new files' for 5 minutes without any change.

Still the same thing after the restarts. The cursor is just not in the right place and I can't choose anything. Only way I could is at 800x600 non-fullscreen. Anyone else having this problem?

had the same error as everyone... you have to put in the original videos to where they belong...

Tested this and when the videos (intros movies) are not in the correct place or deleted, the patch will not install and gives you the OP's error.

I renamed the videos back and it still wouldn't install... figured it wasn't worth it so I just uninstalled/reinstalled -- fixed everything, obviously, so if you can't get it to install and don't want to poke around trying to find the problem, just reinstall.
