I had this up for sale 5 days ago, and my friend decided to wait for the 9800X2, so he backed out of this sale. I'm relisting it ... here's the details:

I purchased this 8800GTX from newegg in August brand new, and now I am looking try out 8800GT's in SLI. My asking price is $360 shipped. I guarantee this card not to be DOA.

Here is newegg link with details specifications:

I am registered with Mike C, and here is a link to my earlier sale on the 8800 GTS I did back in August:

To the best of my knowledge, the way SLI will work with two different manufactures at different speeds is that it will default to the lower of the two. But it should work. However, please do research online to confirm that.

I am facing a similar issue when I go with 8800GT SLI, I am going to buy one right away at the lowest price I can, but may need to buy a different manufacturer in a month or two based on price and supply.....

If someone else has any feedback that would be great.. I would open a thread in the main forum and ask others experience.. this may answer your question right away with first hand experience.

Manufacturer doesn't matter when it comes to SLI. It does have to be the same type card, i.e. GTX for a GTX, and if they have two different clock speeds it will default to the slowest card's clocks.

Only other thing is if someone tried to use a 320MB GTS with a 640MB or 512MB GTS, it will only utilize the 320MB, but that shouldn't be a problem with other model cards, too much.

I guess the 8800GTX's are on their way out and people don't see the point in buying them... I've wondered this too.... given the 8800GT for $260 can equal it in performance. I was trying to do SLI with 8800GT's and I could keep my 600watt.. anyway, I just upgraded to an 850watt quad rail...so now I should just wait for the 8800GTX's to sell cheap and pick up a second...
