Hi!

I bought a Shuttle SN68PTG6 Deluxe HTPC equipped with nVidia GeForce 7050PV / nForce 630a chipset.
The op.system is Windows XP Media Center Edition SP2.
Everything works fine, but there is no sound on TV (SONY KDL-40W2000) thruogh HDMI.
Even the HDMI Audio driver is perfectly installed.
Checked the HDMI Cable and the TV, both OK.

Any HELP would be handy.:surrender

Thanx

Make sure that the default audio out is HDMI not the on-board sound card.

Thank you for your quick answer, I changed the audio output to HDMI, and still nothing.
Any other idea?

if you connect speakers or headphones to the HPTC do you get sound off the line out or headphone out jack (mini plug)?

Of course, the HTPC is connected to the amp by optical.
There is great sound even in 5.1, but no sound on TV.

? HDMI from what the PC? It doesn't pass audio threw it only video you would need a X-Fi Prelude and a Xtension V1.3 to add the audio to the HDMI loop

So with only the HDMI cable connected you get no audio out of the TV but you CAN get audio out of the optical audio interface. Maybe the video card is only passing a digital video signal through the HDMI interface. I don't think you can get digital audio output through HDMI AND the optical interface at the same time.

YOU CAN NOT GET THE GPU TO PASS ALONG THE AUDIO THROUGH THE HDMI

you need this:

YOU CAN NOT GET THE GPU TO PASS ALONG THE AUDIO THROUG THE HDMI
What's with the caps? You need to relax. If you bothered to check his setup DOES output audio through the HDMI interface. Read HERE (http://global.shuttle.com/product_detail.jsp?PI=787).

Enjoy a complete entertainment experience with visually stunning HD video delivered through HDMI output and the finest cinematic surround sound effects by Dolby® Digital Live! and DTS™ Connect.

It DOES NOT say it outputs audio threw the HDMI.

It DOES NOT say it outputs audio threw the HDMI. These specs prove it!

Realtek ALC888DD, 7.1HD Audio
High-performance 103sB SNR quality
Playback sampling rates up to 96KHz
Support Dolby Digital Live! and DTS
I'm reading the manual and there is an HDMI audio driver. There is also an option in the BIOS for SPDIF/HDMI audio codecs. ylgram that might be your answer.

My world would be turned upside down if that thing actually can pass it threw. I highly doubt it after all the fuss thats been made over the extension tho. No add on GPU can do this since they need to be integrated with the sound card. Granted the shuttle might be able to because its all onboard but still I have my doubts

Guys!

Thank you very much for the ideas.
I`ll try the BIOS setup first.

I think there must be a HDMI audio passthrough because of the driver.

I`ll be back.

I checked the BIOS settings, but there is only one setting according to Audio.
The one: HD Audio (Auto or Disable).

I think this option is for the on-board soundcard, the default setting is Auto.

Still nothing :thumbdwn:

How about the "Integrade HDA Codec" option in the BIOS? Is it set to SPDIF or HDMI?

My BIOS does not contain this function! :banghead:
