OK, I just got an MSI GF4 Ti4600 8X, with dual DVI outputs (yay), but... I can't stand the Xinerama style environment Twinview provides by default. I like traditional multihead, where I can change workspaces (virtual desktops) independently, and refer to each screen (:0.0, :0.1) independently. I don't see it in the docs, but can I make the card behave this way? Please? ;)

Update: Whoops, just found out this is in the latest drivers... which reportedly crash on my configuration (smp+flatpanel). :( I'll try the upgrade anyhow I suppose, or wait for a new version.

From the docs (I believe it's at the end of the readme) it shows that you can do the "traditional" style of multihead. Just make 2 device sections, both pointing at the same PCI device (I think). Read the docs carefully and it should be explained.

Yep, 2 identical device sections, except one thing, add to the device section Screen "0" for the first and Screen "1" for the other. If you don't do this X will warn about identical device sections, and ignore the second

You can also find this in the sample XF86Config that nvidia provides.
