I see people still use Corsair but they have a bad habbit of failling after awhile in use.

I hear alot of people using OCZ, but aren't they the PC Chips of computers?

Crucial is still good using Micron modules rebagged as Crucial.

Prices are so cheap but what are you paying for besides timmings and FSB?

Corsair Dominator is what? You pay for PC800 cas4 what 130 for a 2 gig kit.
Corsair XMS 800 C4 68 bucks and some change for same timings and bus speed.

What are you paying for if the bus and timings are same?

I got 4 gigs of XMS 2048 kits of C4 for 70 bucks off the web and i had Corsiar Dominator same settings but twice the cost.

I seen other brands do the same thing. like the Vista series OCZ same timings but twice the cost.

Crucial is Micron (same company) As for king of ram there is none. Patriot uses lower chips, OCZ and Corsair use D9's in there 8500 series ;)

The only difference is Micron tests there ram before it leaves and they stress test it!

Since Micron makes the best chips and Crucial is Micron I'd say Micron. Though Corsair seems to have the best binning.

The only reason Corsair has gone "down hill" is because they clocked their memory way too high, and it was killing itself. Their memory is fine now that they've backed it back down.

I have some XMS2 sticks, and they're running fabuliously. :D

Forget about Corsair - they were good once, but now they stink :thumbdwn:

Get yourself G.Skill ram. Not exactly cheap, agreed, but well worth the money :D
I've just found this offer on newegg which has a special rebate:

I've got 4 1g sticks of OCZ sitting here that I need to RMA because they use Micron D9's and just slowly die after awhile.

Bought:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231145

And haven't looked back. I can OC these sticks further than I could OC the OCZ's but of course I was filling all 4 slots with the OCZ's, but still, they ran HOT and even after an RMA, died again.

And yes, active cooling with that Corsair ram fan/cooler and excellent case air flow, they still run very hot!

Man you don't know what hell your talking about, I have had so many sticks of Corsair and never had to RMA any ever. The sticks I have now is 500 1:1 4-4-4-12 @ 1.9v and I have more room to go. I am not saying there isn't other sticks as good or better but Corsair is far from junk.

Out of my 2 pairs of Corsair XMS, one is stable in my system now, but won't overclock much. The other died after a month, got RMAed, the new pair were stable and also didn't overclock much.

I guess I should explain my self.

I have owned Corsair XMS2 6400 v 1.3 (Max OC 470) Ran very hot, could not do 3-3-3-10 OC'ed like ****, looked like ****. There fore it was Junk!

I have Owned OCZ 8500 SLI edition (newest black PCB) Ran VERY cool, could drop to 4-3-3-10 OC'ed to 1200MHz. Good solid reliable memory

I have owned Geil 6400 (orange ****) Ran mid temps, could not OC worth ****! Timings could not be tightened, this ram was basic budget crap.

I have owned OCZ Reapers (see SLI edition above, same chips same ram ect.)

Finally I went to Ballistix! Its 6400, wil run at 1200 easy, will drop to 3-3-3-10 easy, looks ****ing great, dirt cheap, and runs mid temps.

That is how I rate my memory. I speak from experience so I know what I am talking about. Corsairs XMS2 SUCKS!
