This is strange why their is no widescreen options in BF2 or 2142.

I use a Bigscreen that only goes to 1366 768 and in game only goes as high as 1024 768 so how do i get this game in widescreen so i can use 1280 720 or 1366 768?

Pretty sure you can use a shortcut with some command lines to get widescreen going...

You won't get true widescreen, but stretched with top and bottom clipped.

they have already said (DICE has) that they won't release widescreen because they feel true widescreen gives you more fov, therefore and advantage. I don't think EA has anything to do with widescreen for games.

I'm a standard ratio user and can't really see the big deal, for a start widescreen gamers get clipped top and bottom in place of the extra width, and BF games tend to have a lot of vertical action.

From personal experience, I can say I have not run into any issues using that widescreen fixer in the last few months playing BF2 and 2142. Just to clarify, what it does is make the image "unstretched" in widescreen, it is hor+ and NOT vert-. I believe the creator had v1.32 tested by EvenBalance, but later versions should be fine.

The DICE line of thinking is funny at best and insulting at worst in light of how many laptops and desktops are sold with widescreen panels these days. They really should get off their lazy asses and fix it. Every other team based FPS uses widescreen and even UT2k4 works properly in widescreen with a variety of FOV settings.

I guess all of use with normal vision are cheating in real life too considering that we see the world in "widescreen". In case anybody didn't know humans have a larger fov horizontally than they do vertically.
