IBM Takeover of AMD Speculations Arise

IBM / AMD / ATI would be a nearly unstoppable force in compute / CPU and visualization / graphics.

It might force Intel and Nvidia to merge.

I don't think either is going to happen, yet, AMD *did* buy ATI
and Microsoft IS trying hard to get Yahoo, so you never know...
What does the yahoo/ms deal have to do with this. Big company buying smaller company to take on the giant in the industry?

Imagine if Microsoft did purchase Yahoo! and Google started producing a highly successful and competitive OS, and IBM bought AMD/ATi and was competing with nVidia and Intel and remained very competitive as well. Wow, can you imagine the killer products and how cheap they'd be? :drooling:
