Today Vista SP1 RC Refresh 2 was released to 15,000 private testers. Hopefully this will be released to the general public for testing in the near future.

The details on Refresh 1 and what it offered was fairly scarce, anyone seen any details on what Refresh 2 offers?

I hope MS can fix the game crashes in Vista with SP1, I hope it works? Known MS maybe they will still release sp1 without it been fully tested and hide the problems again.

Well Neowin forum user SaT117 has access to Windows Vista SP1 RC Refresh 2 and posted the registry entry but 1 and half hour later he deleted the entry probably by the Neowin mods' permission.

I am sure lots of people got the new registry entry since he posted 1 and half hour ago. :|

Installation completed, noticed the build tag and the expiration date removed but it didnt displayed the beta build number in system properties so look like it the pre-RTM build or it really the RTM.
Things seem bit faster than the last build. :)

for the build tag on screen, try restarting, sometimes it only shows up after second restart

After uninstalled build 744, did you ran the batch file as admin to deleted build 744 key entry and added new registry key?
When I did that and my WU didnt find any update then waited about 20 mins until my WU detected KB937287 build 6001.18000 4MB update and 20 mins later WU started downloaded around 580MB SP1 RC1 build 6001.18000 update.

Well i think i managed to get it installed! .... the watremark from under the recycle bin has gone & it no longer says the version number under control panel > system ... it just says "service pack 1".

Go into services and stop Windows Update.
Delete C:\windows\softwaredistribution
Restart Windows Update service.
You may have to wait a couple of minutes, but check for updates again.
Worked for me.

Same but I think this is normal. If you check Installed Updates, you will see that it did install though.
