Vista vs XP .. speed in games, 3dmark

I've had dual-boot Vista and XP for quite some time.
Vista is x64 version with SP1RC, and XP - regular 32bit, SP2.

For stuff like browsing, etc.. Vista works really great, and since RC1 networking speed increased tremendously (works faster than in XP for me), and disk speed is also at very acceptable level.
Overall, works really good.

However, majority of games still runs quite slower. Only exception I found upto now is World in conflict.
For most other games FPS penalty is in line of 10-20%.

However, what does seem interesting is also 3Dmark results.
Same hardware, GFX card not OC'd, and I get under WinXP:
3DMark Score 11965 3DMarks
SM 2.0 Score 5559 Marks
SM 3.0 Score 5632 Marks
CPU Score 2630 Marks

vs Vista:
3DMark Score 10841 3DMarks
SM 2.0 Score 5031 Marks
SM 3.0 Score 4924 Marks
CPU Score 2507 Marks

Not only is 3D part slower, but 'CPU Score' is lower aswell.

Wondering if other people get similar results?

Yup, same thing here with 3dmark. Games are about 10% slower for me too. Lost Planet is the only game that is faster for me, but I don't even like it :B

LOL im a student. i got Vista ultimate for $20 via campus licensing.

Theres should be a vista bashing part in the forum, ... this way the 98% of people that do like vista can just ignore and not read the vista bashing threads! ... and the vista bashers can just bash amongst eachother where nobody cares!
