Just curious, i get around 62c idle with the 8800GTX series, i play awhile of COD 4 or Crysis.

Is 78c ok after playing?

I do like that it goes back down right away though.

I haven't hit 80c yet so maybe thats good.

I usually hover around 75 to 78c which seems good.

My GTX runs about the same. Your temps are fine.

My 8800gtx often hit 90c while playing Crysis.

Always ran well. :)

Nothing to worry about. I hit 82C on Call of Duty 4.

those are good temps for stock cooling... 90*C+ is normal for GTX but not safe

I don't have a GTX but I bought this to add some air onto my GT:

Bought it for 10 bucks at Frys and it comes with a quiet 80mm fan (but I installed a 120mm fan in it's place). The card is using the stock fan from evga but has the 120mm fan blowing directly on it. I have my GT overclocked (speeds are in sig) and after a couple of hours of playing COD 4, temps stay under 72c.

Overall idle temps in my rig have dropped about 4-5 degrees (processor dropped about 4-5 degrees all around, same with my gpu).

Lol, that wasn't like that when I linked the page earlier. They changed their site around so here's where the page is now:

I had one of these helping to direct cool air into the 8800GTX cooling fan:
Antec Spot Cool (http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=75018)
Picked it up at Bestbuy for like $10. It is on a flexible arm and has 3 speed settings.

I now use it to cool my heatpipe mobo stuffs...
