Not sure about 92nm... The chip is on a 65nm core.

As for the chip, it's codenamed G92. Perhaps that's what you mean.

You would be better of spending the extra 70 bones on a GTS 512mb g92

I think what he means is, "Which gt has a bigger fan?"
Some gt have a bigger reference fan, which is not quite as sh*tty as the smaller one.
Still, if the fan is of concern, I'd clearly prefer the new gts over any gt.

Sorry for the confusing question. What I mean is which chip is the new G92? There is a deal at MicroCenter for the EVGA 8800GT SuperClocked for $229.99 (after a 20% discount and additional discount). Is this a good deal to jump on? If it is, I'm heading to MicroCenter tomorrow.

Well, I pulled the trigger. Wasn't going to, but Newegg lured me with a $15.00 promo code so I jumped on the EVGA 8800GTS (G92) 512MB. The cost was $299.xx with a 3-day no shipping charge, so I think I got a good deal out of it. Can't wait for it to show up.
