Montana is still the best.
As far as receivers, I feel Moss is better than Rice. Much better hands. I never saw Rice catching a ball in double coverage with one hand, multiple times.
Someone make this man a Jerry Rice High Lite real!

LOL
Winning or losing one game does not decide this type of question. As you all know, I don't care who is the best. I have my list of quarterbacks whom I liked to watch.

I don't care if he is the best of all time. What I know is his ability to go to the second and third receiver is the best in the game right now.
WRT Moss, just like Rice and Montanta, Brady still has to get the ball to Moss.
Look at it this way, Montana had a better running core than Brady. They helped to open the field up for him. Brady had some good running backs but not on the level of Roger Craig.
What makes Brady so good is his work ethic. Some one who comes from no where to win 3 rings is a very special talent. It takes more than skill to be the best. It takes hard work.
All said and done, if you had to chose between Brady or Montana, would that be such a bad position to be in?
Oh and the protecting the QB argument is right out. That only affects the longevity of QBs not their ability to play. In the past QBs used to be punished into the ground. Now you will still have the lost play but your QB won't be sitting beneath a curtain in a assisted care facility shouting out cadence to the staff in the other room.
Are you saying that Montana and Young did not come from no-where?
They both found opportunities and made it their own position.
Bradshaw won 4 rings too and he had a broken neck, possibly the worst potential sports injury I have seen that someone has come away from, still walking. Why is he therefore not in the conversation as the best quarterback with Montana, Brady, Manning and others?
I don't know. Six of their games (AFC East) were free passes this year. Rice's 22 came in a strike shortened season. Otherwise, he could have had 30 TDs that year for all we know.
Do you remember any postseasons where Rice had only one catch?
I did not say anything about Rice not being ace.
My point about Moss' superiority in the air is simply a fact. Brady has been bailed out so many times this season simply because he threw it up and Moss was the only one who could reach it. Rice could not have made those catches simply because he didn't have Moss' height.
In my eyes, Rice is by far the superior receiver but this particular season, Moss has greatly aided Brady, which is what my point was about.
In the superbowl, the attention to Moss let Brady dump short passes all game long. He also over and under threw Moss numerous times due to the pressure and the fact that he wasn't 100%.
I don't think Brady is the best ever. The rules have been changed so much to protect the QB and give more freedoms to the receivers.
Montana is probably the best ever.

I wasn't comparing Brady to Young or Montana in that sentence. I was pointing out how Brady's work ethic took him from a mid 6th round pick to being one of the best quarterbacks of all time.
In no way would I lessen what Steve Young or Joe Montana did during their careers. I am of the opinion that you cannot say who is the best of all time. I have stated that before. I just don't like it when ignorant people say that Brady is over-rated or that he isn't that good. The guy is a great QB and ranks up there with the best. That should not be questioned.

If I had a top 5, I still don't think that Brady would be on my list.
