How the hell did Mitch pull this off? A fantastic trade and thank god we got rid of Brown. In the front you have 6'11, 7', 7'1 (when Bynum comes back)...WOW...It's going to suddenly become a very interesting season...

HUGE TRADE

This trade automatically makes Phil, Kobe, and the Lakers serious contenders. Especially when they get Bynum back. Bad news for us Blazers fans. :(

Seriously big news for the Lakers, I'm not really a Laker fan myself anymore since they lost Shaq but acquiring Gasol will make me want to catcha few Laker games this season

Lakers are serious contenders for the NBA Championship once Bynum is back.

The fact of the matter is, Kobe Bryant is the best player in the world by FAR. Also adding on to that fact, Kobe simply plays a lot better with a good big man down low. This was proven with Shaq and its been proven with Bynum. Now they are getting Gasol? Kobe is now as happy as a kid in a Candy store. I'm very happy for him for sticking with the Lakers for so long. He is finally being rewarded.

With Bynum out they'll dip, but I imagine they will come very strong around playoff time with their big men firing on all cylinders.

Bynum has been out and the Lakers have been doing "ok". Now they are getting Gasol(who is a good bit BETTER than Bynum). With both Bynum and Gasol, they are going to be an extremely tough team to beat.

I can't tell you guys how excited I am with this trade. I've been a huge Lakers fan since I was a kid and have been watching nearly every game (and trying to attend as much games as I can as well), through their ups and downs.

The Lakers are a good team currently without Bynum and Gasol, thanks to Kobe. With Bynam in their lineup, their blossoming young center made them a pretty dang good team. Now with Gasol, they're going to be one hell of a team to play against.

Of course, Kobe is Kobe and it's pretty much agreed he's the best player by far in the NBA (let alone the world). I feel sorry for anyone who D's him up, as I can imagine how much of an nightmare he is since he pretty much scores at will most of the time. Add in Bynum when he's healthy, and Gasol to be concerned about, it'll be a tough match up against for any team to try to play through.

I can't wait to see Gasol play!

Oh yeah, thank god Brown is gone from the team. The guy is joke. It's a shame, he had so much potential but I guess you can't wash away suck in that high of a concentration. :p

Yep. Thank god that worthless guy is gone.

I think its funny as hell about Memphis's response for why they took Kwame. "He was the only player with a contract ending soon". :rofl

While I'm happy for Kobe. Lebron is next. He's been on a piss poor team for far too long. They need a solid point guard and power forward/center. Theres no sense in talent like lebron and kobe being on such pathetic teams for so long.

They still won't beat the Cavs.

Please...

I love my Cavaliers, but the last match with Cavs. vs. a defunct Lakers wasn't even fair. You can't rate a team based on members being injured.

And yes I know the Cavs had injured players, but it was all unimportant players. Come to think of it, the only important player on the Cavs is Lebron. The rest are easily replaceable.

Gasol had an amazing game! He did better than the entire Lakers team(even Kobe) last night!

Just look at this sick lineup that is going to be in the playoffs

Derek Fisher - PG (extremely underrated imo)
Kobe Bryant - SG
Lamar Odom - SF
Pau Gasol - PF
Andrew Bynum - C

Followed by the BEST bench in the NBA? The Lakers are going to be scary good.

The last time Kobe and company played the Cavs, they (Lakers) got embarrassed. Even with the addition of Gasol, they still would not have a chance against the Cavs.

I CANNOT believe the Suns are thinking about giving up Marion for Shaq. Shaq is by far the most overrated player in the league at this point. :headexplode:

Marion has been unhappy with the Suns for the last 2 years. I'm surprised he stayed this long.

you are talking about a DEFUNCT Lakers team against Cavs. Thats no way of comparing. Lakers were without both Bynum and Gasol, their second and third best players. Of course the Lakers lost. They had Kwame Brown Giant Retard playing.

Shaq is the worst center in the league period. Suns have been making some stupid moves lately, so it wouldn't surprise me if they did this.

Appearantly it's a done deal if Shaq passes his physical (that is supposedly where he is now, in Phoenix taking the physical). Doesn't make much sense to me, but whatever. I'll be happy to watch Bynum posterize Shaq! That's going to be AWESOME!

The Suns picking up Shaq is like a hitching a fat airstream trailer to a Ferrari.
