That doesn't look too good. I hope it's driver problem as some people are saying. There's just no way to know till we get more information. If those scores turn out to be accurate then it looks like my GTX will be just fine for quite a bit longer than I thought.

I hadn't seen this, but that score is very poor. A GTS512 or even a GT can get a score like that on a quad core system. It's all good for ATI though.

No way that's anything but a cpu limited "free version" score. That plus immature drivers. Otherwize they wouldn't sell a single card with performance like that.

Driver support. Unless they have some 18x.xx release or something like that..Its going to be going on 1 gpu most likely..

Thats weak if the bench was @default res (i.e. 1280x1024) :thumbdwn:

Is there anything really confirming this? I mean something like a more reliable source than just "someone from china?"

why do people even bother with 3dmark... why not actually test real games where it matters

This puzzles me too!! why not bench a real game like Crysis or CoJ when you can bench 3DMark ? i mean the bench only takes a couple of minutes!!??? :screwy:

Because nVidia values Futuremark's benchmarks in that it gives major maketing material for their PR/marketing department.

All they need is an FPS number and crysis in the same sentence to market the new card.

seriously!

Give it a crysis FPS rating!

"The new 9800GX2! With a 40 FPS Cyrisis rating!"

Where the fps number assumes full tilt graphics settings.
