Some one wanted some Crysis tests in my Picture thread :p Well here they come. All in my native 22" res ;) (note the test done in the other thread was bugged since i did NOT have the Vistra SLI/Xfire hot fix - after installing that it RUNS ALLOT BETTER)

Yeah, how about actually playing the game with those same settings with Fraps running in th background set to record your frame rates for the entire lvl.

ehh i am playing the game atm but i'm no hardcore tester - i used Crysis_Benchmark_Tool as it seemed like a good way to do some tests. I have no plan on using fraps. I would rather just play the game

Then we have no way of knowing how the card actually handles Crysis. See my rig in my sig, I run fraps and average what you got in the benches in actual game play.

Canned benches have been optimized for and I'll bet you a dime to a dollar you aren't getting anywhere near those numbers in game play.

I play the game as run in the first test and it seems to run fine. Like i said i will look arround the net for a custom demo. And i dont want this to turn into another crusade....nor a bitchfight

what drivers are you using? Have you tried the beta 2 drivers?

Thats near what I get.

I tested with fraps when you wake up untell you jump off the plane (the briefing), very first part of the game. at:


1920x1200 very high settings 2aa

Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
40000, 17, 25, 20.300

Which is pretty good for that part of the game.

edit: Playing crysis at 1440x900 with 2aa and very high settings plays around mins~38 Avg58~ and avg high~ 70fps on the first level for me.

Here is the problem, you could be getting 35fps average actually playing the game even thou you believe you are getting you 40+. Thats why actually benching ingame is better than the canned bench. ATI has optimized for the in game bench but not so much for the game itself as of yet.

Seems ATI have some kind of bug with the min fps - the driverheaven review also showed that in other games.

Just now tested:

At your very same settings with the same clock speed (4.0Ghz)

I got 17FPS min. 32fps Avg. and 45Max, But when I play in game with these settings on the first level I get an AVG of 58+ FPS.

Where does the benchmark save the result info?

14.44 min 32.73 avg 50.21 max

It only hit min fps for a second. It played at 28ish or 36 fps mostly.

I installed the natural mod first then the config.
