Creative has actually released new drivers for Xfi series for those who have issues with 4 gigs of ram.

These are Beta so beware:

http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/download.asp?MainCategory=209&nRegionFK=&nCountryFK=&nLanguageFK=&sOSName=Windows+XP&region=1&Product_Name=Sound+Blaster+X-Fi+Platinum&Product_ID=14065&modelnumber=&driverlang=1033&OS=10&drivertype=0&x=13&y=12

I use them and they seem to work ok.

I got rid of that cracky sound i still have with Nforce chipsets.

I still get an error saying no supported devices detected when doing the diagnostics program but sound works fine.

I'm not touching anything with creative drivers. I finally got the remote to work and no crackling.... not sure what I did but it works therefore I'm not going to try and fix it :D

I don't blame you at all.

Creative has been producing garbage lately even the dreaded Xfi's that first came out.

Im looking toward an ASUS sona pci-e. Much better support and hardware.

think he means the ASUS Xonar D2

if shielded properly and with decent caps and opamps the X-fi is a very good sound card :D

Everyone knows Creative users are the ones with the balls and sausage to say

"I know it's not worth it but I do anyway"

I use a Creative audio device.

The Xfi Fatility Platium. Good card but poorly built.

I just want to be able to use my new X-Fi XtremeGamer card I got for Christmas. Still sitting in the box.

:p

Gotta get the rest of the parts first. No point in it sitting on a motherboard with no GPU, RAM or monitor. :D Hell, my case is literally empty right now. I've got to install everything from scratch.
