View Full Version : concepts for centurion 5 mod

i'm going to start modding my centurion 5 side panel soon with the help of a friend, and here are some designs i had in mind.
i took a picture of my current pc, and photoshopped the side panel
(was too lazy to put photoshop these onto my pc :p)
so what do you guys think? any suggestions? will put up pictures once we get started actually doing it.

all i know is that dike can play :captnkill:
all look nice dude. i like the one on the very bottom, with the 2 fans slanted, not on top of each other.
EDIT: is there are reason why your case is standing on wooden plank instead of the floor? so doesnt ruin floor?

the plank is there temporarily. even though the centurion 5 has some kind of little rubber stands on the bottom, i don't really trust them? i'm afraid the static from my carpet might affect some of the hardware. i slide my case around alot on the floor, and having to pick up just to move it 3 inches to the side gets kinda annoying. maybe i'm wrong, but i'm just being on the safe side.
after consulting some friends, i've decided to use the 3rd from the bottom design, "conceptdetails". i'm cutting out a rough draft on cardboard to see what it would look like now :o

here's the sketch.
it will be another week before i actually get started however. i'm so excited :D :D

Yeah looks good :)

I wouldn't put an exhaust fan on the side, I'd put it at the top of the case so it blows it completely out through the top instead of having some hot air clouding around the top and the exhaust fan facing the side. But it looks awesome!

see i would do that but i don't like the way the fan looks by itself on top of the case. if i had multiple fans on top for exhaust, i would do that, but the centurion 5 doesn't have that much space. plus, the fan in the top right covers up alot of the wires i have there ;)
also i ordered 3 of these
and one of these to light it up

If it were between looking good and functionality, I'd say "forget about the look, I don't want my computer to overheat." If I could put a 120mm at the top of my case instead of having my 80mm, I would.

my pc gets far from overheating with the way i have things now, and adding another fan to the side will only do it good.
i currently have 2 intake on the front, one on the side, and one exhaust on the side, along with one exhaust on the back. with the cooler master TX2, i've yet to see my cpu go above 50° C. and to make things better, i'm getting a zalman 9700 for the new case. i like the way it looks, and its pure copper (nana2).
i'm very pleased :)
