Not a problem, thanks for all the juicy mind-candy to chew on at least! It'll give us all something to disagree about in case the weekend gets boring....
EDITED BITS: Ooops, forgot to mention that it's the idea that the card that did this (if it's real, all speculations are still open over here...I'm just running with the fun ones right now. :) ) is NOT an ATI or nVidia product.
That would mean that there's a BIG new player in the 3D world, or an old one re-vamped itself all secret like with a killer card they're about to unleash which would just be fantastic news to me!
More competition=better products/lower prices generally in the video card world, and with things so hot 'tween ATI & nVidia right now I would LOVE to see what would happen if a mystery player came up and put out a card that kicked the schitzels out of anything either of 'em could offer.
You must admit, it'd have a LOT of potential for my kind of humor. Can you imagine the pressure nVidia would suddenly be under?
Hehe... I am pretty sure I know what it is. :D
Definitely not faked screenshots (would have to be on quite a powerful CPU though).
MuFu.

Could you PM it to me your guess? I promise not to share it.
Or else just tell us if you think it ISN'T ATI or nVidia.... ;)

Knowing MuFu, it might not be a guess :) Who knows!

Once again I apologize for making the title for the thread not exactly relate to the contents.
Somehow "Next Gen 3dmark benchmarks - Guess the card" did not have the same sex appeal.

Yeah, I take back my request that you tell me...it would tie my hands on the guessing game part and I just HATE that!
I'd rather just speculate than know, it's oodles more fun that way and it avoids all them nasty legal headaches/worries. :D
wtf SOMEONE repost the pic please :D
anyways from what ive seen in this thread, ill guess itsa certain card that will pull 7k at default, but running in 800x600 or less.. but I DUNNO CUZ I CANT SEE THE PIC
someone post it..
Its not NV35 and it's not NV40.
...and it's not really "next-gen" either.
MuFu.

The original pic is still on the server. The second one seem to never have been - probably on another server.
If you got a little web knowledge & stuff, I'm sure you could figure out how to see the original picture. The server never deletes them.

If it's a matrox then woo hoo a nice comeback. :)
But if the card costs $700 then screw that, I would preferr to get a higher quality CPU than an best card. :) But still a great knowledge that cards like that exist. :)
Digi, I am trying to keep my 1K standard for at least 1 hour...not spamming for an hour is HARD!!! :) But I guess I will try to hit the gym and try to forget about the post for a sec. :)
Yeap I guess you are right, there is always a place where you are a noob, but than again that's life. :)
My last TaDA post got deleted (I think by G.I.BRo but no one came clean) :) So I guess I am haveing a DeJavu in 1K.

More seriously though, just speculation here, could the card's name begin by F?
No, I'm not gonna do every letter in the alphabet :)

I edited it in to the second post of this thread, but for those who hate to refresh you can find a copy of the first picture here (http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/hayho@sbcglobal.net/vwp?.dir=/digs_online_digs/mystery_card&.dnm=nv40.jpg&.src=ph&.view=t&.hires=t).
Sorry for the SBCYahoo briefcase-thingy (HATE IT!!!!), but it's all I got. :)

Nop.. bitboys have made a contract with a PDA manufacturer and they're working on a 3d accelerator to compete with PowerVR MBX.
They will be out of the desktop business for quite some time (not that they've ever actually been in that business though.. but they tried..).

I'd like to know where everyone showed up from. I haven't seen any threads on rage3d about this.

Hmm, I go away for the computer for about 2 hours and miss loads.

That's me confused :D
If a card was made, just with an increased 128 to 256MB of RAM, would it have that kind of increase?
Could possibly be the type of RAM or even something else. (whatever else could still count as current-gen?)
