You're pretty trusting too, who's to say I didn't just photoshop that score to create a ruckus?
Could it be a photoshop job? :D

Yeah, it must be the Mom in me that keeps me going back there....that and the whole "ATI-thing". ;)

No one, I just trusted it for some weird reason on a gut-level when I saw it....that and your name was familar to me as one I knew/sort of trusted.
Is it real?

Hmm, looks like realistic scores but for the fact that the NV40, to the best of my knowledge, hasn't even taped out yet. Unless of course nvidia have been really sneaky and this is one of their record number of tape outs from last year ;)

Or it could be an R450/500 too, ATI might be sneaky having something up their sleeves...he is from R3D and all. :eek2:
The NV40 hasn't taped-out yet.
I don't know if we should expect that much of the NV40. My guess is that it's mostly a technology leap, with maybe 30-40% higher performance. Maybe 50%, who knows.

Even if you guys guess it (and you might have already) I can't tell you what it really is. All I can tell you is the image is not modified, and its not an NV40, per se.
Thats all I can say.

My god!, it's the bitboys voodoeon fx tnt nuclear dawn card running at 4Ghz and it's own private power station... *sigh* I always wanted one of them. Just couldn't find a country big enough to store the box in.

Nah... I doubt the NV35 will break 8K. Unless it's had porridge for breakfast.

I'm just happy to hear that cards exist now that can crack 10K in 3dm2k3 for some weird reason. :)

I guess they are now with ARTX on board. But we could just pretend Canada for ATI and California for Nvidia.

Well whatever it is, it's got some weird scores...
Here's those scores compared to a 9700 Pro (http://www.beyond3d.com/articles/3dmark03/tests/index.php?p=2)
9700 Pro
Mystery Card
GT1
147
156.1
GT2
29.7
105.6
GT3
26.8
76.0
GT4
26.4
52.4
Ok... so it only gets 9fps over a 9700 Pro, yet more than triples it in GT2, triples it in GT3 and doubles it in GT4?
Well at least, the final score is correct according to the test scores...
3DMark03 score =
(Game Test 1 frame-rate x 7.3) +
(Game Test 2 frame-rate x 37) +
(Game Test 3 frame-rate x 47.1) +
(Game Test 4 frame-rate x 38.7)
156.1 * 7.3 = 1139.53 = 1139
105.6 * 37 = 3907.2 = 3907
76 * 47.1 = 3579.6 = 3579
52.4 * 38.7 = 2027.88 = 2027
= 10652
Strange, strange...
NV40 didn't tape-out AFAIK. And the R4xx might have been cancelled, not 100% sure.
Then there's that "did ATI tape-out something recently?" rumor- so... Hmm...
Or it could be a smaller player - but I don't quite see who'd be able to get that much.
Either it's a darn well researched & done photochop job, or it's for real, or it's for real but it's a ridiculously overclocked version of a card or another ( 750Mhz NV35 could maybe get that much, maybe )
Heck, nVidia had 600Mhz+ NV25 samples, so it could likely be something that'll never go in real mass production too.

Doesn't seem to me particularily odd that it performs so different in some kinds of tests. GT1, IIRC, is basically all DX8 calls While GT2, GT3, and GT4 start to use shaders and such. So what this would really indicate is that the "simple" pixel pushing power of the card isn't drastically more, but the shader components and other DX9 features are much more powerful.

Hi requiem99,
Why you post a title "NV40 preview benchmarks" but say it is not NV40?
And volt, are you just guessing or you do know it is NV35 ?

It's not NV40, and it looks far too high to be NV35. And I don't think ATI have anything that beefy yet. So it must be...
