This is the most ridiculous trade I've ever seen in my life. Marion and Marcus Banks (who's a bench rider) for Shaq. ROFL. Suns will destory the West and the rest of the NBA with this trade.

LOL our starting 5 is now:

Steve Nash
Amare Stoudamire
Shaquile O'Neal
Grant Hill
Raja Bell

If this isn't a freaking all-star team I don't know what is. This is worst than the dominance of the Kobe/Shaq days.

if this trade was 3 years ago, then I would agree. Shaq is old and injured. I would be surprised if he was able to stay healthy long enough to be a real threat.

Here is the problem, Shaqz suckz

lawlz 4 championship rings

quote from shaq:

"I'm very upset," O'Neal said, very intentionally giving the money quote at his introductory press conference. "You just don't really want to get me upset. When I'm upset, I'm known to do certain things -- like win championships."

Shaq is one of the top five best centers of all time. Sure, he's slightly past his prime, but he gives the suns exactly what they need. Good D, and Championship experience.

I think people are too quick to count Shaq as out of the game. Last season he wasn't doing too well, but I don't think it means we're going to see the same thing again.

I've got a feeling he's going to snag at least one more ring.

He's also playing with one of the greatest point guards of all time. Remember all that whining he did on the lakers because Kobe was a ball hog? He still managed to score like 25ppg. Imagine how much with Nash.

I hope you guys are right. I like Shaq, but I just don't think he has it in him any longer....

He's pretty beat up, I'd say by the end of the year he'll be out.

If Shaq can make it healthy by playoff time, he will certainly be a huge help. Shaq anything near 100% is an amazing asset. The problem is, it doesn't look like he will be this season. The gamble is on next season, and the suns winning one. From the heat perspective Marrion is a solid addition, to what is otherwise a one man team. With Marrion and Wade perhaps they can start to build something with a good draft pick.

Unless Shaq has been faking his injuries all year, this is a bad trade for the Suns. If he has been faking all year, then it might be alright.

I'm on the fence with this trade.

Cons:
Obviously Shaq isn't as dominate as he once was. He is well past his prime. His stats sheet reflects this fact.

Shaq demands 20mil a year. I do realize that the trade equaled out to be that much, but the fact still remains that Shaq is overpaid and does put strain on the salary cap.

Suns needed a center badly, but I am not sure if Shaq was the right choice. It appears as if the Suns are planning for the here and now instead of the future. This Shaq deal is "ok" for this year, but for the next few I am unsure. Shaq, Hill, and Nash are all very old to be still in the league. Granted they are good players now, but age is catching up quickly.

Injury. This comes with age. Shaq is an enormous man. On his aging body, he is very much injury prone.

Last but not least, the loss of Shawn Marion. Marion is perhaps one of the best all around players in the league. I mean ALL around. He puts up points, blocks, steals, rebounds, assists, and puts up TREMENDOUS defense pressure. You really can't get much better than Shawn Marion for all around talent.

Pros:
Shaq does have the experience and knowledge that exceeds most players in the NBA today. He CAN help his fellow players become better.

Still a big man. Still puts up heavy D, even if his stats don't show. He is still a huge presence down low no matter how many ways you look at it.

Stoudamire isn't a true center at all. Shaq is. This would put each in their place.

And Finally.... its Shaq for god sakes. We are talking about one of, if not THE biggest personality in basketball today. Where Shaq goes, fans follow. I myself have hated the Suns, but even I will be watching them play just because of Shaq. With the fans comes the crowd. The Phoenix Arena will be BOOMING. The Suns will be VERY VERY deadly at home. Fan Presence is the only reason that teams like the Warriors are even relevant.

I think in the beginning I thought this trade was a bad move, but now I think I'll just hold my judgment. I want to see how Shaq actually plays.

I agree. the Suns are taking a huge gamble on Shaq. IMO he's pretty much done, but he might have enough left if they save him for the playoffs.

Either way I will certainly miss the Suns up-tempo game play because that will end with Shaq on the floor.

It was fun to watch, but they just couldn't pull off a championship with that play style.

Slow and steady wins the race.

The way the OLD team of the Spurs have been playing, it looks like that won't happen.

I'm still gunning on my Denver Nuggets to win it all! (nana2)

You really need to lay off the steroids...it's screwin' with your brains. There is no way that those losers could beat a healthy Cavs' team.

Yea, thats why the Nuggets have been 8 - 2 against the Cavs since Lebron showed up. Your Lebron is no match for Melo, Iverson, Camby, and Kenyon
