They stated that they nolonger will buy/stock new HD-DVD Movies and in time they will elimate their current stock before the end of the year. Looks like its getting closer to just throwing HD-DVD in the closest with betamax and forget it ever happened.

Mind you that Blockbuster has also went with Blu-Ray...

Finally, this war didn't last nearly as long as I thought it would. Let's hope Sony can see some benefit from it.

Same could've been said for DVD back in the day. Once HD technology proliferates further throughout the market prices should drop with increased demand and supply.

SHUTUP PS3 FANBOYS, teH CelL is FTL! Gooooo HD-DVD woooooo yeah....W!IE()!ID!JD

yes because every player manufacturer shares their profits... there is still plenty of compitition within the hardware manufacturers. You can expect more drops in prices actually since more hardware manufacturers will be jumping aboard to get in. Right now it's mainly the big companies, not the budget ones...

Owell its done. I hope I can pick up some good HD DVD's on sale and wait a long while for blu-ray to get a cheaper player.

We're Going Blu-ray

Dear Drew,

You're receiving this email because you have asked to receive high-definition movies in the HD DVD format. As you may have heard, most of the major movie studios have recently decided to release their high-definition movies exclusively in the Blu-ray format. In order to provide the best selection of high-definition titles for our members, we have decided to go exclusively with Blu-ray as well.

While we will continue to make our current selection of HD DVD titles available to you for the next several months, we will not be adding additional HD DVD titles or reordering replacements.

Toward the end of February, HD DVDs in your Saved Queue will automatically be changed to standard definition DVDs. Then toward the end of this year, all HD DVDs in your Queue will be changed to standard definition DVDs. Don't worry, we will contact you before this happens.

You can click here to change your format preferences.

We're sorry for any inconvenience. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please call us at 1 (888) 638-3549.

You may want to wait until the blu-ray spec stops changing, or buy a ps3 instead of a dedicated player.

Might keep that to PMs, and if you can't get it resolved that way toss MikeC a PM.

j0j081 has been here for a while, so I don't imagine he's trying to burn anyone on an XP 64-bit disc.

I just received your pm. I don't understand why you complained in here. The pm is stamped 11:21 PM my time, you posted this at 11:08 PM meaning you didn't try to contact me about the item first which is a little rude IMO. Yeah anyway, for those wondering the item was shipped about a week ago but it's to Canada so I have no idea how long it takes. I also informed Phuccinnutt before I sent it that I had been extremely sick and was unable to send it and another item I sold to someone else right away. He seemed to understand at the time...

Microsoft needs to release the BluRay addon quickly now that HD-DVD is dead. They said last year they were open to supporting whatever HD format won, and I can't see how it's possible to argue HD-DVD is still alive. Once you can't rent them, or have any new movies coming out for it, you're a dead format

Plus with the PS3 now in control of the dominat format, it makes sense to release SOMETHING to compete against it with. With over 10 million Xbox360s out there you're bound to sell at least a million or two if you release one- and making money is all that matters to Microsoft, right? Here's hoping
