Hope you guys can help :)

Is there ANY way to merge a registry file JUST before XP shuts down?

My reason doing so is to remove one registry key that is created.

( XP copied the from Startup folder and move it into this Registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\run\ )

I've tried to load it at Autoexec.bat, RunOnce, etc. etc., but it seems that the key above loads earlier (prioritized, i guess).

Thanks in advance ...

if you want to get rid of a reg key that hangs around when it shouldn't, boot up in safe mode and do it...

The key creation is done everytime i finished loading the benchmark (WinBench 99). So, it's unpractical to keep on going to Safe Mode and remove the key ...

I'm looking a an automated way to remove it. My solution is to merge/overwrite the key inside so that it won't 'autoload' it. |(some sort of resetting the key)

One problem with this is that i can't seem to find a proper place to put the registry file.

If i put it into Run, RunOnce, or etc., it still loads AFTER "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\run\" executed.

I didn't to put a line; "c:\windows\regedit.exe /s reset.reg", into autoexec.bat, but it didn't help.
