They've been taping defensive calls since 2000.

First of all I want to clarify that I hate the Patriots more than any other team. I am a steelers fan born and raised.... With that said, you guys can't be so nieve to think that New England was the only team taping coaches, coordinators and such. They were the only team that got caught. I am not trying to justify what they are doing, I think that it is wrong, and it messing up what football and professional sports are all about. People who contribute New England's near perfect season, and near dynasty to this taping is pure rubbsih. It's like when people say that the only reason that the steelers dominated in the 70's was because they were juiced up on steeroids. Every other player in the leageu was to. No one man had an advantage over another due to steeroids during that era. There were no rules or regulations that strictly prohibited the use of performance enhancing drugs back then. The steelers team won because they were good, and the same thing goes for New England, they won because they were good. Never before had so many players from one team made it to the pro bowl as did they 78 steelers(i may be wrong on the year). When a good team comes around, people want to finds flaws in order to justify their greatness.
Hope I don't come off as a total jackarse, I base most of my opions off of what my dad says, him being a sports columnist for the pittsburgh post gazzette.
