I decided to buy a 40GB PS3 ($300 from Craigslist) instead of an XBox 360 for my Rock Band fix. Now I'm in a market for a powered USB hub that will work fine with all four RB controllers connected. I can always buy the official 4-port powered hub that is marketed for RB but I would like to know my other options, especially of cheaper powered hubs and/or having more than 4 ports.

Btw I came across a few 4-port hubs that draw its power from two USB ports. Would that be sufficient for RB?

Where did you get the 2nd guitar from? I wasn't aware that they are selling them by themselves yet.

On the 360, it comes with a powered 4 port adapter.

Don't have a fourth one yet. :o But I thought it would be best to get a hub that'll work with all 4 rather than 3. ;) :)

It would probably work, but I would grab a powered one, just to be safe.

While the hubs that draw power from the ps3 may make the wires less messy, some of the devices really pull quite a bit of juice and will put a unreasonable strain on your ps3.
