Hi guys, seeing as ram is really cheap at the moment, I'm thinking of upgrading from 2GB ram to 4GB. I'm running vista32.

I know I will only be able to use about 3GB or ram.

I currently have 2x1GB G.Skill 800MHZ. it's running at ~1000mhz and my e6850 is clocked at ~3.7GHZ. Gigabyte p35-DS3R MOBO

If I add another 2x1GB of 800MHZ ram, am I likely to be able to keep the same overclock?

I assume that if I go for just 1 extra stick of ram then I will lose substantial performance because the ram won't be running in dual channel mode?

2x2GB isn't that much more expensive.. so maybe I should just get that? would it be worth the extra $75?

With as cheap as ram is these days, i'd go with a 2x2GB OCZ/G.Skill pc8500 kit. That way if you ever choose to go 64bit, or run a *nix OS you'd be set.

When I built last spring, 2GB modules were expensive and the timings sucked. Now they're dirt cheap and the timings are getting near 1GB module latencies, so I'd get 2x2GB. :)
