i currently have a ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe 570 SLI board, and i was wondering if the OCZ ram cooler would fit over the ram if i had a zalman 9700 installed.
the space between the ram and the cpu socket is small compared to newer boards, so i was wondering if that would be a problem.

No it wont and the Corsair Dominator fan is a better cooler anyway,
It will fit

get that instead.

some feedback guy...
"Other Thoughts: Does sit close to my Zalman 9500 but doesn't touch (on an ASUS P5N32 SLI Plus). On the same board an eVGA 8800GTS installed in the first PCI-E 16x slot comes very close, but does not touch, the memory cooler."

If the Dominator fan comes close then a ocz has no chance ,Its way bigger.

yeah the dominator will fit, but it doesn't look as cool :\. i'm going to have a clear side panel soon, so i want things to be as pretty as they can be.

if i knew how to put led's in the dominator, then i would definitely get that cooler, but thats too complicated. or at least i think it is :p

I'm not exactly sure on the depth of a Zalman 9700. I don't think you'll have to worry about height issues because the cooler itself might not stick out that far forward. I'm not at home or I could measure how far the heatsink is past the base.

It's 90MM long according to their website, and if you look at the picture you can kind of estimate the size of the cooler. http://www.zalman.co.kr/ENG/product/Product_Read.asp?idx=164

It's really hard to tell unless you put it into the board. As long as it can fit in front of your ram you'll be okay, but if not then most likely wouldn't fit over top of any cooler mounted on your memory modules. I'm looking at some of the pics I have of my DFI expert and it is almost the same gap on your board. I know my zalman didn't go over the ram modules, but I think it might be a little closer on your board.

thanks for the help. im going to order the zalman cooler first, and see how much space i have left for the memory cooler. hopefully i can fit the ocz, but if anything i still have the dominator to fall back on

i don't even want it so that my ram stays cool, it's not like i changed their timings or anything(although i want to learn how to!). i just want it for the looks :p (nana2)

The OCZ will slide a fair bit to the side but theres a danger of it falling off.

Using a fan on your ram when it doesnt need it will just make your ram more dusty.

What you doin? ,Lan Li should have a spare bezel ,Just add 3x40mm fans and make a homebrew.
