02-19-08, 05:10 AM
Speaking in an interview with Next-Gen, at GDC, Monday afternoon, Molyneux hinted that the new game would revolutionize in-game AI. Although he refused to be drawn on details he said, In the six years since Black & White [was released] they have been working improving the great things that underpinned that game, and now they are getting pretty close to something that is very significant. Its a very big thing. A new franchise and as close to something revolutionary as I have ever seen. And were close to announcing it.

Sucks to be you when this stuff comes out.

At least he's trying new things.

Humm, seems like a subject that surfaces every other year or so, yet we dont see any big leaps ... Look at Oblivion. The marvelous AI lol

Peter Molyneux is the biggest self publicist in the business. He has all these brilliant ideas that do not materialize in the released game. Remember Fable 1 all the stuff they left out. He made some good games but never a classic, yet a lot of people think he is like some god like developer. He sure can talk the talk but he has yet to walk the walk.

he says the same thing with every new game he is working on

The same that Black&White and Fable, lets see the final product

02-19-08, 08:32 AM
what is he working on now?

Fable 2, AFAIK.

I wonder if the guy shouted "ITS A REVOLUTION" when he discovered he's a douche.

I liked Fable, but thought it was too short to be an epic RPG type game. Hopefully Fable 2 will be longer and less "cartoony".

Molyneux have always good ideas but its worse with realization.
Although First Black and White was Rvolution,,,and fable was nice too

I'll believe it when I play it. I'm hopeful, since the same old FPS/RTS grind is becoming tiresome.

Black & White 1 was incredible back in the day, for me at least.

Wow, no idea why there's so much hating on Molyneux, the guy has made some fun games and can easily be considered a pioneer of the industry in some aspects.

Last time he "revolutionized" AI he made Black & White 2, a game that had AI that would come out and camp at your city's gates and do nothing to try to break in.
