Ok, so I've used Apache for Linux multiple times and I'm trying to get it to work for Windows. I've installed it and everything, but I cannot get it to work! All of my port forwards are correct and it works when I dual boot into Linux. Just for some reason, it won't work under Windows. Does anybody here use Apache under Windows? If so, how did you get it to work properly?

Sorry I had to. :) You just trying to set up a web page or something? What do you mean by it won't work?

Try start>run>cmd> "telnet yourmachineipaddress 80" from another machine to see if its listening on the default http port. Or PM me your IP address so I can find it out for you.

I'm starting to think it has something to do with the config file. I'm going to do a default install and see what happens.

Can someone try out
www.sixstorm.com
and see if it works for outsiders?

No it doesn't. The web server is not listening on port 80, either due to misconfig or firewall/porforward issue.
"telnet www.sixstorm.com 80
Connecting To www.sixstorm.com...Could not open connection to the host, on port
80: Connect failed"
try WAMP.

it's a free Windows Apache MySQL PHP server all in one.

Very nice! So how do you use it? LOL j/k.
Where can you show Apache where to look for your web site files?
EDIT: I went into the httpd config file and changed the directory, but it still doesn't work. WTF?

I haven't used wammp, but I have used XAAMP (http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html).
It's super easy to use, just make sure you secure it as advised.

WAMP, XAAMP, and EasyPHP are all good options. My server runs Ubuntu Server w/LAMP, but for testing on the PC I use EasyPHP. The versions included are a bit older so I wouldn't trust it to a live server exposed to the world.

Strange. It should just work once you restart the server.
