what control panel settings are you using?
that is a bit low.. my system... stock with no tweaks gives around 4400... you should be around the 5000 level stock (4800-5000 I would guess)
check to see what your control panel has enabled (ie in terms of AA and FSAA) and post :)

my compare ^^^
You have the same mobo I just upgraded from. That is the best mobo I ever had. Never had a problem with it. Now it's my back up system that I am going to put together next week.
Everything is the newest driver and control panel. Is there a way to disable the AA? I stays on 2x. I set the slider to optimal performance.
I got it up to 4590 but it just seems like it's missing something.
all right... well if you want to leave it @ stock balanced you can do so... I get around 4200 or so with my sliders @ balanced...
turning off AA and FSAA I reckon you probably found that already.. just have to click the option to leave it @ application preference... that what I Do :)
your score is not too shabby btw.. :)
tell me this... when you installed the video card... did you format the system and then install the cat's ?
I recommend using the 3.1's if you can :) all of them are extremely stable for me but I like the control panel that comes with 3.1 (and 3.2) better :)
3.3's should be out in a week or so :)
Cool. I'll give that a try. I did as you said and put the sliders at app pref. That is how I got that score.
This low score for the system bugs me because I usually get among the higer scores for my system stet up. Of coure I am usuall using a Nvidia card ;) . I just can't seem to get the hang of this stet up.
I think Bu is right my memory is holding me back. I whent the cheap route and got the 3200pc oem instead of the nicer 3500pc and using Crusial or Mushkin. Oh well There is a huge difference in actual game playing BF @ 1280 x 960 with AA @ 6x and Aniso @ 8x and Texture and Mip @ Quality settings I get around 80fps on average. I doesn't dip below 60fps when the screen is busy. Me likie :D[IMG]

yah.. its quite possible you have some inherent bottlenecks :)
my score is 2nd for stock system with my cpu :) which is not too bad I don't think :)
but like I implied earlier.. perhaps there are redundant drivers still in your rig which are buggering your performance somewhat...
Most 9700Pro's get around 6xxx 3d marks....
My 9500Pro is getting 4,101......
I'd say you should be able to get round teh 5-6k level with that rig, just make sure you dont have AA or AF enabled when you benchmark.
