Found this on slick deals. It seems as though they are going to liquidate their inventory. This would be good for anyone wanting an upconvert DVD player and some cheap movies.

At CompUSA:

CompUSA was bought by Tigerdirect btw, which is why their site looks just like Tigers.

Awsome deal on an Upconverting DVD Player with HD-DVD Support!

Word is the 360 add-on will drop to $50. If it does I think it is a must have as the quality is great and worth it even with the format demise.

Who wants HD DVD Player anyway? I'm returning mine back to Sam's Club. Toshiba crapped out of HD DVD Player business. They will no longer produce any more HD DVD Players, which is why the price suddenly goes down so quick. Just Tuesday, they announced that they are pulling out of this HD DVD Player business. Blu-Ray Player is the way to go, not HD DVD Player. Don't invest in something with a clear sign of no future. I certainly wouldn't.

didn't expect hd dvd to move out of retailers THAT quick. makes me wonder if unviersal, paramount and wb are STILL going to release upcoming hd dvd titles in next few months.

Awsome deal on an Upconverting DVD Player with HD-DVD Support!

still doesn't justify the price. If I wanted a upconverting DVD player I can get one much cheaper. I wouldn't care if the player can upconvert better then a cheaper one. I could take the extra money or save my money and start saving for a Blu-ray player.
