Do not get so excited
Geforce 9 series will be mostly a refresh to the Geforce 8 series
and not "avant garde"

+1
Nvidia's new card is 9800GTX
A G92 with Tri-SLI support
We learned that the new G92-based card will be branded as 9800GTX. From what we know it is a card similar to the 8800GT(S), but it has two SLI connectors.
Finally, there will be a card to replace the retired 8800GTX. We don’t know how many people will go out and buy three high-end cards, but you never know.
Geforce 9800 GX2, a dual-chip card, will work with quad-SLI, while Tri-SLI works with three single chip cards with two connectors. It will be fun to compare the performance of three 9800GTX cards against two 9800 GX2 cards.

Booo my gts is running at higher speeds than that. Unless it has more tmus/rops/sp's this will be a letdown.

yay now i dont have to worry about shelling out $600 for new video card. 8800 will do just fine until series 10.

Yeah those new GTX rumors are very strange, 512MB on a 256-bit interface?!
This would be a G92 GTS with 2 SLI connectors... nothing more.
At least the GX2 looks like a good product.
