Damn that looks sweet! The cars... they're all... real. They aren't some fake BS thought up by the game companies. That's a leap forward in and of itself.
Yea... BS on the realtime though.
Can't get it to play :(
Maybe you can try this thread: http://crymod.com/thread.php?threadid=19173
Dunno.. looks really good.
The teapots are prolly on a really heavy LOD system tailored for the tech demo, IE they arent more then lowpoly spheres at any sort of distance, to keep polycount down.
Buildings can be kept pretty lowpoly aswell, decently resolution textures and good lighting and postprocessing.
The thing with tech demos are that you know where the camera will be, and only need highres content in those scenes you see close up..
Would be interesting on what sort of a rig this was running on.
And if it was indeed realtime, not "sorta realtime" as 2-10 fps on a "render every frame setup" and then put together at 30 fps.

Sony: "Sweet! Lets make an urban landscape and put a bunch of balls bouncing around to simulate physics!"
1 month later....
Sony: "That was great! Now lets watch the video and make it happen on our console... the PS3!"
Programmer: "Ummmmmm yea about that... it's not powerful enough to simulate physics like that..."
Sony: "Awwwww ****. Guess we'd better start working on the PS4." :headexplode:

You will need PS5 for that.

I don't see why that couldn't be realtime...I mean Crysis had way more going on in any given scene....with foliage and all that. This was just a bunch of rectangular buildings with bouncing teapots.
Did not look that good...

Nothing, just pointed out that it does look good and that there is no other 3d engine that look this good.

You could've just said that instead of calling him a moron.
