Just wondering what you guys use for artifact testing.

~Ibrahim~

P.S. Vista-compatible would be nice.

Still pretty much use ATItool.

Same here (if I overclocked my card I guess). :D

Is there a way to just get the ATI Tool Artifact Tester alone? It installs some driver when installing, which sounds a bit iffy.

I still use ATITOOL for my artifact tester ,sometime I just use the artifact tester and use Rivatuner to do the overclocking,if I can't get ATITOOL to work right.

OK, so I installed it. How long do I need to run it to be "completely" stable? I've heard one hour?

Either way, I ran it overnight and no errors!

~Ibrahim~

P.S. And I'm overclocking and changing fan speeds from nTune; is that a bad thing?

ATI Tool is good for core/shader testing. Not very good for memory though.

I was just about to ask that, JakUp, lol. Do I just need to game for that to happen? I ran through 3DMark '06 fine, got me a 10% boost.

OK, so I ran the card last night at these settings:

648MHz/1512MHz/1584MHz

It was looped 10+ hours with not a single artifact. Today, I can't get it to run @ those speeds for a second without major artifacting. I'm lowering the shader, as 1458MHz looks to be my sweet-spot.

Honostly I found that gameplay is best for memory :o Like Crysis or Bioshock.

My favorite benching utility. :D

I've settled to 621MHz/1458MHz/1584Mhz @ 80% Fan @ 24/7. I might push the RAM some, but I don't see a particular need.

Thanks a lot, guys!

I find the NVidia "Human Head" demo is best for testing memory. I use ATITool to test everything else, and Rivatuner to overclock.

Not quite a artifact tester but very useful.
Its like memtest but for v-ram.

Sweet, I'm downloading the app for V-RAM testing right now.

Human head demo? The tech demo's, right? Like the waterfall thing? I have those somewhere. Thanks!

I have a question for overclockers, particularly ones that OC their GPU: have you ever tested a speed and you are SURE it is good and then test it again and find it not work?

For example, my first ever run with it, I got to 648MHz/1512Mhz/1584MHz. I knew it was good because I ran the test overnight and no artifacts on the highest sensitivity with ATI Tool. So, I started upping the memory clock, but no go, so I went back down to the overnight-good clocks (above) and find out that I'm now artifacting like crazy, within the first few seconds. Everything is the same, I'm sure: fan speed, clocks, etc. Is this normal?

Thanks!
